This week at Remuera Montessori, we played fun Dutch Games. A heartfelt Thank you to Susan, Marrie, Rossie, and Elske for sharing a bit of your culture with our learners. Our sensory exploration with Orange, Mandarin, Grapefruit, and Lemon opened up beautiful conversations about taste. We noticed some of our learners grading the taste of sour. Isn’t that fun? We tasted yummy Banana muffins and did many projects in our art room too. The highlight of the week was, our visit to the New world! Some of our older learners have been learning about the New Zealand currency for some time. To extend this learning, they researched ingredients and how much it would cost to make Cauliflower rice. They walked to New World, chose the ingredients, paid at the counter and received a receipt and balance cash too. We ended the week by making cauliflower Rice share with their peers, teachers, and whānau. What a great experience it was!
Stay warm and safe!
Have a fantastic week everyone!
